1. 1. Two insects the ladybird larvae eat are scale insects and aphids.
   2. Birds don’t eat ladybirds because they taste too terrible to be eaten to themselves.
   3. Ladybirds sometimes ooze bitter orange blood from their legs when they play dead.
   4. Play dead means they are pretending to be dead.
